Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community
Saturday, June 5, 2010
The Erie County Diabetes Association is participating in the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community presented by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Presque Isle State Park in Erie.
Please start gathering friends, family members, neighbors, and co-workers to join your efforts in walking to combat the epidemic of diabetes. For every $100 raised, we can provide life-saving testing supplies and self-management education (market value of over $400) for two uninsured diabetics who otherwise could not afford these costly services.
Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield underwrites the cost of the walk so that 100 percent of the money raised by walkers goes directly to the 27 participating organizations, including the Erie County Diabetes Association.
Your support is greatly appreciated and will enable ECDA to carry out its mission of combating the growing epidemic of diabetes in our community by increasing public awareness, promoting prevention and helping individuals understand and responsibly manage their diagnosis.
